But when the disease has occurred, do not panic and give your child medication on the advice of friends, acquaintances and relatives. For some children it may have helped, but in your case it may not work. Why so? It seems that symptoms are similar, why not cure the child themselves. That is the most important mistake of caring parents. The main point in a competent and effective treatment of a child is the right diagnosis, but only a qualified specialist can make it. There are many dangerous diseases, which symptoms resemble the common cold and other non-serious ailments.

If there are doubts about the diagnosis – consult another two or three doctors – some experts say for sure what exactly the kid is sick of.

Another factor of correct treatment of children, specifically, will be analysis handed over on time. Even a common blood test will tell a lot about the health of the child.

Special attention should be paid to kiddies up to 1 year – the most insignificant chill instantly turns into pneumonia. Protective functions of the body are not yet developed, home treatment of such children may result in unfortunate consequences. As soon as you notice the first signs of illness – call your doctor. He will conduct himself or appoint a survey, the correct diagnosis and prescribe an effective, safe treatment.

Parents should remember that the treatment is good, but the disease prevention is better. Encourage your child to personal hygiene from early childhood, and teach him to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and after being outdoors and playing with animals. All of these simple but such necessary life rules will help you avoid many unpleasant diseases of you and your child.
