How to protect your child from all diseases? Major step to protect our children is obligatory immunization. Prevention of many diseases through vaccination is the world’s known and, importantly, the most effective practice. Many diseases have been eradicated thanks to vaccination (eg, smallpox).
On the basis of health status at birth, a child is vaccinated against various serious diseases: tuberculosis, diphtheria, poliomyelitis, etc.
At a certain period of baby’s life the doctors advise him to vaccinated against these or other illnesses – the vaccination schedule is made, which should be followed to achieve a positive result, the proper functioning of the immune system.
Many parents are afraid to vaccinate their children, claiming a natural good immunity, or the consequences of the use of certain drugs.
It is clear that vaccinations can only be done to the children who are absolutely healthy. If a child is sick with the common cold, the immunization will be done no sooner than a couple of weeks. More severe disease require greater interval – 1 – 1,5 months. All these precautions are needed because vaccines may cause side effects: the rise of body temperature to 38 C, allergic rashes on the skin, the child becomes floppy and refuses food. All these reactions do not occur very often, but if, for example, the temperature after inoculation rose above 38 C and lasts longer than 3 days – you should immediately seek medical attention.
However, we can only say that every parent himself bears full responsibility for his children and decides if to vaccinate or not.
